The Chester Project
At Foulkes Paving, we love working with clients to create their new gardens. Here’s the story of one garden project in Chester.
What was the project?
This garden project was designed and built for a family at there forever home. As the family spend a lot of time in separate countries due to work and school commitments they wanted a home in the uk to use as a base. The couple came to us with a design that had been completed by a local garden designer - but further to a consultation and site visit Luke worked with them to perfect the design and material choices to achieve a wonderful garden to match the grandeur of this beautiful home.
1000 square metres, 200 tonnes of rubble and 300 tonnes of new materials later we completed this unbelievable project.
What was the result?
Symmetry, sharp clean lines and the very best of materials are the key factors that make this garden such a great build.
For the main patio, pathways and terrace we used London Stones pre sealed Jura Beige limestone in varying sizes creating multiple seating areas and zones close to the home. We rebuilt the terrace from scratch using reclaimed Ruabon red bricks and the original decorative clay air bricks to blend seamlessly with the main building.
We installed around 500 Linear metres of corten steel edgings creating beds for planting and pathways which over time will weather to a golden orange. We also constructed a large water feature which was again clad using Corten steel giving a feeling of consistency throughout this large garden.
Alongside these main features we installed a new lawn including a full irrigation system, slatted fencing, and lighting throughout the project.
This project was a great success with the clients comments being “We are really grateful we chose you guys, definitely the best building/landscaping experience we have ever had. I actually think Karen is going to miss you being around”.
Every driveway and patio we install is completed to the correct British Standards giving our clients the all-important peace of mind.
